1st Barefoot Contessa Dinner Party

Carissa opened up her home for the 1st Barefoot Contessa Dinner Party. We had 13 women along with great food and fellowship. Carissa set a beautiful table complete with candles and mini vases with fresh shrub branches and thyme. Notice the beautiful painting in the background that Carissa painted several years ago on an old door - so talented. :)

The menu included: appetizers - sund dried tomato dip and guacomole
soup - corn chowder
entree - baked ham
sides - roasted carrots, provencal potato salad, roasted baby pumpkins,
sugar snap peas
dessert - pecan squares, croissant bread pudding, shortbread cookies
drinks - lemonade, cider, tea, soda, coffee

We had so much fun meeting new ladies and chatting the night away. Carissa even had 2 games for us to play. The first was a trivia game about Ina Garten and the second was to name as many Food Network TV Shows as you could within a time limit.
If you weren't able to make this dinner be sure and plan on being at the next one. Hopefully the next one will be January after the holiday chaos. :)

That picture was homemade?! You've got to be kidding me. I was totally sitting there during dinner thinking, "Wow, that's a really great painting. This house is fancy!" Impressive, woman.

Just to do some "momma bragging..." All the pictures in Carissa's house, just about, were painted by her! She was an artist before she was a cook.
