Pasta alla Betsy/Lou Ann
Look!! - ingredients (some of them) spread out just like Pioneer Woman!
And the finished product with a few tweaks - I used Italian sausage instead of shrimp because I had it and my guys like it! I use mild Italian sausage links, roast in oven at 400 for about 40 minutes and then slice. Served it with a big green salad.
Recipe was easy, quick and tasty. My daughter thought it was a funny color for pasta - sort of pinky but tasted good! (Looks more orange in the picture - think my photography needs some work!)
My husband glanced at the cookbook on the counter and asked who the woman was in the picture. I explained it was the authors sister. He then asked why her picture was in the cookbook. Because she wanted to put it in. Is every recipe named after someone? No, but a few are and I guess she can do whatever she wants!

I didn't mind her sisters picture being there...I just thought she could have found a better picture of her! It looks like Betsy just put a headband on to wash her face...should could use a little blush maybe!
Hey Lou Ann, what brand is your cool blue pot? Are you happy with it? I have been thinking of getting one like it. Is it 6 Quart?
I need one of those pots too--and PW seems to use them a lot..
Pretty good assessment about Betsy's picutre, Carissa! Pops says that PW wears too much eye makeup, so maybe I should show him Betsy...
I can give out my biscuit recipe,Lou Ann, no problem...I will write it up as a post soon...maybe I should even take pics as I make up a batch...
Today, I took my leftover hearty PW biscuits, split them, put a smear of butter, then a sprinkling of Parmesan, and toasted them to go with soup for lunch. They were nice and sturdy for that!
I think she put that picture of her sister in because she didn't want her to look better than she does - just a sister kind of thing!
Love my new pot - got it for Christmas after heavy hinting! Le Creuset, 6 quart from William Sonoma.
Weighs a ton when empty, even more with food in it, like how it really holds the heat and easy clean up! And will go into the oven - didn't have a pot that could do that. If it is good enough for Julia Child and Pioneer Woman, it is good enough for me!
Can't wait for the Johnson biscuit recipe!
Well, I thought she put that sister pic in because she loves her so much that to her she is beautiful any way she looks, even not made up--you know how people seem more attractive to you when you love them...? But I have heard of that sister competition thing. I never had that since I still think my little sister is cuter than me...
