Confused about Cookware....
I have decided that I must have an Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven like everyone on the Food Network has! I have saved up my birthday money and I am ready to take the plunge. I can't decide what brand to get though. So I thought I'd ask you ladies what your opinion is. Should I go for the top of the line Le Crueset, or something cheaper like Giada's at Target, or what about Lodge at Walmart? That is only 3, there are many other brands out there. IKEA even has one now too! Do you ladies have any advice for me? Do any of you have a colored enamel pot?

I have one that I bought at Kohls. It is royal blue, great quality, and cleans up very well. We have been very pleased with it. It was an inexspeive one, but it has done great! Hope that helps some.
Michelle, do you know what brand it is? Blue is what I was wanting.
It is a Food Network 5-gt Hard-Anodized Dutch Oven. I see that it is on sale (on line) right now at Kohls for $49.99. If you spend $50 or more you get free shipping. :) But I do not see they offer it in blue. :(
They also bought a cast-iron covered roaster from Kohls (in blue) and have been very pleased with it as well. They have that on sale now too and they offer it in blue.
Hope that helps some.
Hey Carissa, I saw a Le Creuset blue 5 quart Dutch Oven at the Marshals/Ross in Meyerland Plaza for $49 last night!
Oh, I am totally going there this afternoon! Thanks!
I love my blue Le Creuset dutch oven - got for my bday last december and have really enjoyed it! Julia says go with the oval shape as it is more versatile. If it is good enough for Julia, it is good enough for me - that's my motto! Hope you were able to find the one at Marshalls!!
I couldn't decide, so I bought 2 at Marshalls...one La Creuset, and one Cuisinart, both 7 qt. One is obviously pricier. I have them both sitting on my stove to see which one looks at home there, then the other one gets returned! I'm waiting to hear back from La Creuset's Costomer Service to see if the warranty covers a pot from Marshalls that is marked as "seconds". I'll let you know what I decide...I know you are on pins and needles! :)
Well, the winner is La Creuset, their customer service people say that my "seconds" pot is covered under the lifetime warranty, so that sold me with all the reviews I read on other brands of pots getting so many chips.
Yay Carissa! I'm so glad that you got such a great cooking dish. Let me know how it cooks and if I need to make a similar investment :-)
